Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor, met with Geoffrey Van Leuven, the Netherlands’ National Security Advisor, on Thursday to discuss bilateral defence and security cooperation as well as the Ukraine crisis.
Leuven is the Prime Minister of the Netherlands’ security and foreign policy advisor. His trip to India coincides with President Ram Nath Kovind’s trip to the Netherlands.
According to official sources, the two NSAs discussed important regional and global developments in addition to bilateral issues.
“The two also emphasised the importance of enhancing India-Netherlands cooperation and engagement on these issues, including policy dialogue on issues of mutual interest,” the sources said.
According to sources, Doval and Leuven also agreed to strengthen their partnership by enhancing their ongoing defence, security, and counter-terrorism cooperation.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.
President Kovind will visit the Netherlands from April 4 to 7, at the invitation of the King and Queen of the Netherlands, to commemorate this significant achievement.
