The start of the IPL was poor for the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. In the first match of the league, Ravindra Jadeja’s team was defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders by 6 wickets. Even after playing 20 overs, Chennai had scored only 131 runs. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) batted explosively, but apart from him, no player in the middle order took the responsibility. This was the reason that KKR easily won the match.
Chennai’s second match will be with Lucknow Super Giants on 31 March. Before that match, great news has come for the team. The quarantine of Chennai’s leading all-rounder Moeen Ali has ended. He has joined the team and will be available for the match against Lucknow. Moin was unable to get a visa, due to which he reached India late. He was in Quarantine during the team’s first ground.
Moeen joined the Chennai Super Kings bio-bubble on Monday. All the teammates welcomed him. Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also among the players to welcome him. Moeen Ali’s play in the player match of Lucknow seems to be fixed. He bats in the middle order as well as bowls. Moeen took 6 wickets in the bowling as well as scoring 357 runs in the last season.
