There are only two days until the IPL 2022 season begins, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni has made another shocking decision. He has given Ravindra Jadeja, the team’s all-rounder, the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni has made the decision to step down as captain on his own. In the 15th season of the IPL, he will be seen as a player.
The defending champions will face Kolkata in their first match on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium, but there has been a significant change in the four-time champions CSK.
This time, CSK kept four players, including Dhoni-Jadeja, before the IPL auction. The franchise paid the highest sum of Rs 16 crore to retain Jadeja. Dhoni, on the other hand, was only retained for this season for Rs 12 crore. There has been talk that Jadeja could be promoted to captain since then.
