Ricky Ponting, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, claims that South African pacer Enrique Nortje is only a few spells away from joining his team. Due to back and groyne injuries, Nortje has been out of competitive cricket since the T20 World Cup in November last year.
Following the loss to the Gujarat Titans, Ponting stated that David Warner would be available for the next match, and that he hoped that the injured Mitchell Marsh would be able to play in the team’s next match. Warner was rested from the ongoing limited overs matches in Pakistan, but he was unavailable until April 6, just like the other Australian players on the tour.
The Delhi Capitals’ next match is on April 7 against the Lucknow Super Giants. “Today Nortje bowled 100 percent in the warm-up,” Ponting said.
