Nothing, Carl Pei’s new company, will launch its first smartphone in India this year. Nothing Phone 1 will come with a Snapdragon processor. The phone’s prototype has also been revealed, indicating that the Nothing Phone 1 will be released with a transparent design. Carl Pei was a co-founder of OnePlus, but he has since parted ways with the company.
Although the company has not yet given information about the phone’s launch date, it is expected to be in August, according to a teaser posted on the company’s Twitter account.
The launch of Nothing Phone 1 in India will coincide with the global launch, according to Mun Sharma, Vice President and General Manager, Nothing India. Manu Sharma, who had previously worked for Samsung, joined Nothing last year.
Nothing Phone 1 is expected to compete not with OnePlus, but with Apple’s iPhone, according to reports. Nothing OS can be installed on this phone, and it is claimed that this operating system will provide the best pure Android experience. Users will be able to personalise the phone’s graphics, sound, and other features.
Apart from customization, Nothing OS will come with 40% fewer pre-installed apps than other operating systems. To give users a taste of Nothing OS before the phone is released, the company has announced that it will release its software through Preview Launcher, which will be available for download on select Android phones.
Nothing finally launched its first product, the Nothing Ear 1, in India last year. Flipkart does not sell Nothing Ear 1. In India, the price of Nothing Ear 1 has been kept at Rs 5,999.
